Days of a Wife

September Recent Reads

September 28, 2017

Hey everyone! This has been such a busy month I haven’t been able to read much! Two of these books I finished right at the beginning of the month, so I really only read only two books this month. I’m hoping in October I will have a bit more time!

Anyway… let’s jump in, I have a few good ones to share!

 Crazy Rich Asians

Whew! I listened to this on audible and it was a lot of work! All the names were a bit overwhelming. Also, it was just a long story. It makes me wonder if I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it rather than listened to it. I didn’t hate it, but it just didn’t make me want to keep listening all the time. So, I need advice, should I try the second one in book format? Right now I’m torn!

 Mean Streak

I randomly found this book on a blog, and thought it sounded good. It reminded me a bit of The Good Girl. The story starts of with a woman going on a run and she disappears in the woods, but we get to go along with her. It’s a basic mystery novel, but it’s a good story. I enjoyed this one, but wasn’t enthralled! I also listened to this on audiobook.

Redeeming Love

This was my one book I actually read in print. I absolutely loved this story! It’s a great story of love told in a beautiful way. This has been recommended to me for years. I don’t know about you guys, but a lot of time I am reading whatever is recent and “hot” so I often don’t go back in time to books I’ve missed, but I randomly decided to do that this month, and so happy I did! So if you are like me and skipped over this book, do yourself a favor and read it!

 Firefly Lane

This was my second Kristin Hannah novel. I absolutely loved The Nightingale and recommend it to others often, so I wanted to check out some of her other novels, and while it wasn’t quite as good, it was still really good. I cried quite a few times, while driving lol (listening on audiobook again). This novel takes you on the journey of two friends through the years and you really get attached to the characters. One thing I know for sure now, is that Kristin Hannah can tell a story and take you on the journey! I would definitely recommend this book!

Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Also, what books should I read next? I am hoping to read a few thrillers in the Halloween spirit!

 Thanks for stopping by!
