So last time I shared with you about a few of the details of our wedding, and today I’m going to share all about the ceremony!
When I was looking up ideas for our wedding I realized that there was ton out there for the reception, but not a ton for ideas for the actual ceremony, so hopefully if you’re getting married, this might give you a few ideas!
Our ceremony was held in Old Pate Chapel in Lynchburg, VA.
We kept the decor very simple for the ceremony because we had to tear down very quickly afterwards. We mainly just did a floral arrangement up front and wreaths on the front door.
For the prelude we had a piano player and harp player play classical music. We then had one of Todd’s very VERY talented friend and father sing a rendition of “You are My Sunshine;” it was very jazzy and Michael Buble-ish song. I was hoping this would set the theme of our wedding.
Then, while Todd was walking in the Grandmas and Moms his sister sang “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You,” the Haley Reinhart edition.
Then, for the bridesmaids to walk in, and me to follow, the piano player played “A Thousand Years,” the Piano Guys way.
First look 😉
You might have noticed we had white petals sprinkled on the ground. I ordered them off of oriental trading and I wish I would have ordered more (I used 10 bags!)
We had our church pastor marry us.
Towards the beginning Todd sang “Tangled Up in You” by Staind.
It was super cute because he was so nervous he actually forgot when he was supposed to sing, and he mouthed to me, “What do I do!?” and I said “SING!” lol!
Side note: You might have noticed that the bridesmaids had alternating color dresses. It actually started as an accident, but ended up being great! There dresses were custom made from etsy.
We also did the God’s Knot Ceremony instead of a typical unity candle.
We also had Todd’s Grandpa pray for us.
We then took communion, not just as a couple (I always feel awkward at weddings when I just watch a couple take communion), but it was offered to everyone.
We had Todd’s amazingly talented friend sing this Come to the River by Ronnie Freeman during Communion. Guys no joke, listen to this song, and she did about 100 times better! Seriously, I wish you all could hear it!
We then of course did vows and the ring ceremony!
We then kissed and became Mr. and Mrs. Holloway! Woot Woot!
We then walked out to Family Force Five’s “Baby You Got It” We started it with the lyrics “You break necks when ya walk by..” Yes not super traditional but it was totally us! 🙂
And check out these cute pics the photographer got when we all escaped out of the way of everyone exiting!

We are so thankful for our families and everyone else that made our special day fantastic! And thank you for reading all about it!
Until next time,
