This past weekend Todd and I took a quick trip to Greensboro, North Carolina to take a small trip together and to celebrate my birthday!
We left Friday morning, and headed straight to Wet and Wild. I actually have zero pictures from it because I just left my phone in our locker, but know that we had a great time! 😉 If you’ve never been to a Wet and Wild park they are so much fun! As an adult who now gets a bit motion sick, I tend to enjoy water rides now more than regular rides! Our favorite ride was the Tunnel of Terror (the purple ride) but all of the rides are great!
Tip #1: Check Groupon for ticket discounts, we were about to save about $20 dollars by buying our admission tickets from Groupon
Tip #2: Pack your lunch. The food isn’t terrible, and it isn’t extremely over priced (still slightly is), however the food is nothing to write home about. Pack a lunch that your family will enjoy and go out and eat it in your car. Wet and Wild does not allow food or drinks to come into the park, however, you may exit and reenter with a simple stamp. A lot of people do this! Then just budget to get a fun treat like ice cream!
After Wet and Wild we headed to Hop’s Burgers because we were absolutely starving!!!
Ya’ll…this was the best burger I have ever had! Seriously! And the food was so affordable! Our bill was under $30. I ordered The Spicy Goat (get this if you go!) and Cordon Bleu fries (also amazing!).
And Todd ordered The Hibachi Burger with Sweet Potato fries (burger was great, fries weren’t anything special, go with something a bit more deluxe here!)
Needless to say we enjoyed our burgers!
That evening we took advantage of our Movie Pass and went and saw Skyscraper. It was a stressful movie, but we enjoyed it. Now this was also a special treat for us because they have an amazing theatre in Greensboro with the reclining chairs! We have nothing of the sort in Roanoke so we were living the life!
We then went to find our Airbnb! This was our first time staying in one and guys the experience was amazing! If you need a place to stay in Greensboro I would highly recommend Angel’s B&B. We stayed in the Green Room. If you saw my instagram stories, then you know that we felt like we were sneaking around crashing someone’s beautiful home!
We were absolutely impressed by the cleanliness, the scent (lol), the decor, the stocked fridge, and just all around happy with our stay!
The next morning she had tons of choices for us for breakfast. Then we finally got to meet our hostess, and she was so incredibly sweet! She is planning on eventually turning this B&B into a home for women that find themselves pregnant while they are still in college! I just loved her heart, which made me love the place even more!
We also took full advantage of wearing the robes that were provided for us in the room! 🙂
She literally had thought of everything! There was even a file of ideas of what to do in the area!
Once we got ready and checked out, we headed over to Friendly’s shopping area. These stores are not outlets, but there were some that we don’t get to shop in often!
Todd started off by getting his caffeine fix at Caribou Coffee.
And we explored West Elm. (where I want everything, or maybe I should just move in?…)
P.S. anyone ever use felt soap before?
As well as Anthropologie where I always get so sad that there clothes are just out of my price range. ( I mean guys…how adorable is this shirt!?). As well as a few other stores (including an REI for Todd 😉 )
For lunch we headed over to Clean Juice. I have heard so much about their juices, as well as acai bowls, but had never had a chance to try them before!
I tried their beach bowl, and I have to say I really enjoyed it and it was so much more filling than I expected!
Todd tried the Nutty Bowl and also enjoyed it. He also took one of their wellness shots to clear up his sinuses. Also, I love that this company is a Christian company. I didn’t realize it until I saw a lot of their shirts included Jesus, and they had a prayer request box! So cool!
Man! I was going to keep writing about the rest of our day but this post is just getting so long and I want to share all the goodness of Greensboro with you! (And I don’t want you to get bored!)
No worries, I will have a part 2 soon!
Let me know if you have ever visited Greensboro before in the comments below!
Thanks for stopping by!
