Hey Everyone! It’s my favorite post of the month, my monthly book review! WOOT WOOT!
In march I read three books, and there was actually one that I did not finish!
First book of the month that I read was How to Find Love in a Bookshop. This book follows a girl whose father owns a bookshop. The bookshop is in trouble and she must save it. The book is a cute beach read type of story. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and if you enjoy books about bookshops then this book is for you! Even though I enjoyed this book, I had already forgotten the story line. Now I do often forget books, but keep it in mind that this book is nothing life changing, but it is enjoyable.
Next up we have the classic Agatha Christie book, And Then There Were None. I am a murder and thriller book fan more than I am any other type of book, so the fact that I had never read an Agatha Christie novel needed to change (I bet you are all gasping now). This one had great reviews on Goodreads and seemed to be a more popular one, so I picked it up and devoured it very quickly! This is a fast pace story that follows ten strangers who have all been brought to a remote island for one reason or another. Of course, there is quickly a murder and you must try and figure out who the murderer is! I would definitely recommend this one! I did not see the twist, and it was a very quick read!
My last book of the month was Little Fires Everywhere. This book has been everywhere (including Reese Witherspoon’s Insta). So I knew I had to give it a read. Especially because the cover was so intriguing. This book is hard to sum up, but overall it is a family drama. If you like reading about character growth within a family then this is definitely for you! I enjoyed this book. I will say that this book does hint at a few hot topic issues, however, maybe not super strongly, so if that is not your cup of tea then I would stay away.
Lastly, I did get about 6 or 7 discs into The Secret Keeper and had to give up because I was so BORED! I rarely do not finish books, but the length of this audiobook (17 discs) was just not something I was willing to push through. I feel like I gave it a fair try and nothing really eventful happened. Is this a book any of you have read and loved? If so I’m definitely willing to give it another chance. It just seemed so slow to me, maybe if I read it rather than listened to it? I don’t know! The book description sounded so good (like a mystery), but it disappointed me!
Let me know what you have read or are currently reading! I am always looking for new books to try!
