Hey guys! As most of you know, Todd and I took a cruise on the Carnival Fantasy a few weeks ago! It was our first cruise ever and we had an absolute blast! I already reviewed our port days (which have a lot more info about what we did on those days) linked here and here. There was just so much we did I definitely couldn’t fit it into one post!
We were cruising out of Mobile, Alabama, so we left a day early so that we wouldn’t be rushed day of. We also passed through Todd’s old hometown in Alabama (it was right on the way!) and he had a blast showing me all of his old stomping grounds!
We booked the cutest Airbnb.
The Airbnb was right in the downtown area which was super cute. There were also bikes to rent, and if it would have been nicer then we would have ridden them around!
Overall, Todd and I weren’t super impressed with Mobile, just didn’t seem to have a lot to do (maybe we just don’t know all the secrets?) and had a hard time finding somewhere local to eat, so we ended up at P.F. Changs for a late dinner.
The next morning, we had a few hours to kill before getting on the boat, so we decided to take a few pics in our Airbnb and then explore Mobile.
We found a cute coffee shop.
And then it was time to board!
We got on board, got lunch and explored our room and the ship!
Pro Tip: Pick your cruise boarding time to be earlier so that you can eat lunch for free on the Lido deck (buffet!)
We enjoyed our first night on the ship with dinner and a show. And also checked out the amazing sunset!
The next day we had a day at sea, and thankfully since we were headed south, we warmed up quite a bit!
We started out with the brunch, where I got this delicious fruit loop crusted french toast!
Pro tip: On sea days you have the option of a sit down breakfast instead of a buffet, take advantage of this and order as much as you want…it’s free!
Then we headed to the pool and the sunshine where Todd and I were able to relax, read, listen to podcasts.
We honestly just enjoyed taking it easy these days! Tons of naps and ice cream! Each night we always ate in the dining room (I failed at pictures from this) and would go see a show or comedy!
On day 3 of our cruise we went to Progreso, Mexico. You can read fully about that day here! We did our excursion to Chichen Itza and a cenote! Seriously an amazing experience!
On day 4 of our cruise we had another day at port! We stopped at Cozumel, Mexico where we went to Paradise Beach! You can read fully about that day here!
Pro Tip: One thing we did on our cruise to make things easier on port day, was we got free room service for breakfast! We were so impressed with the spread they brought us! We asked for one danish and got four!
The view of our ship from the port!
On our last day (day 5) we had another day at sea and took advantage of the breakfast brunch! I mean look at this spread!
This day was a bit windy and chilly so we didn’t have much luck by the pool, so we enjoyed again…napping, reading, and ice cream! Lol it was amazing!
We also went to the Newleywed game which was pretty hilarious, and Todd sang karaoke for the first time ever! (He sang Thinking Out Loud)
Pro Tip: If you don’t have much else to do on the ship, go watch karoke, it is seriously entertaining!
The next day we got off the ship and headed straight home! But we did make one last stop…
Todd took me to his old stomping grounds of Noccalula Falls!
It was seriously breathtaking! If you happen to be near the area, make sure to stop by!
Our first cruise…but not our last! We will definitely be going on more in the future!
Have you been on a cruise? What is your favorite cruise line to travel with?
