June 16th: Another day at Magic Kingdom! There is so much to do there, you have to do at least two days!
We had a later start that day, so we got in the park right in time to get a good spot for the Parade.
The floats they ride on are so cool! I especially love the Tangled float.
We used our fast pass on Splash Mountain, and posed for the picture 😉
We then had our quick service lunch at Be Our Guest (the Beast’s castle). This is the only quick service that you have to make a reservation for. I am a sucker for anything Beauty and the Beast because I was in the play in high school, and Belle just happens to be my favorite princess. But bias aside, this is a meal I would recommend. It’s air conditioned, a really good value for a quick service credit if you are on the dining plan, and the theming of the restaurant is amazing!
I mean come on, look how beautiful the dining area is!
The food was great too!
And guys…seriously, try the grey stuff it’s delicious! Some people think it’s overrated, but I LOVED IT.
Horrible photo quality here, but as you can see the restaurant is even complete with the infamous rose!
What a cute lunch date! 😀
We of course later in the day got some Dole Whip. We are big fans, probably ate it at least five times on our trip. It is just so refreshing for a hot day! I prefer the ice cream and Todd preferred the float.
We then took advantage of our park hopper pass and went over to Epcot for dinner!
We had dinner at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall which is a Norwegian restaurant located in the Norway area in Epcot. It also happens to be a character dinner!
When we went in they set you up first with a picture with Belle.
While we were waiting outside we had a lady tell us on her way out to try the beef. So Todd got the beef and I got some type of ravioli dish. Both were great, but Todd still talks about this meal, and he wanted to go back just about every night. I don’t have a picture of the dessert, but they bring out a dessert platter and it was so fun to try 4 different desserts (yes FOUR).
We met four princesses and they are great about being in character! They come to your table and carry on conversations, and since we were newlyweds they all gave us advice on love and relationships 😉
June 17th: We took the morning to rest and then went to Epcot in the late afternoon to finish the world showcase.
We obviously had to stop at Germany to get caramel corn
Todd posed with the statue in Italy 😉
We posed for a picture too.
We also bought a few treats from different countries!
We then headed to the Contemporary for dinner at the California Grill. This was by far our favorite meal the whole trip. It was also two table credits from our meal plan which made it our “fancy meal” of the trip.
It is on the top floor of the Contemporary Hotel so the view is amazing. If you go ask for a fireworks view (if your reservation is around 8:45 or so)
Here was our view of the castle. We got to watch all the fireworks during our dinner (they actually announce it too and dim the lights)
Todd got the Kobi Beef and I got the Filet. We recommend both 🙂
As you can see we were right by the window. And once again because we were on our honeymoon they put congratulations on our dessert!
To end the evening we checked out the view!
June 18th: We went back to Animal Kingdom. This is one of my favorite picture spots in the park!
We rode a few of our favorite rides again.
And we spend most of our time checking out the animals. They are all throughout the park, so it takes awhile to see them all!
And we took a few artsy pictures. 😉
We then had an early dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe. I don’t have any pictures but we explored the hotel and spent a lot of time in Basin, which is the spa-like store that is in the hotel (and bought a lot too…oops). I remember that the Cafe was nice, but the food was just okay, not a super memorable meal. I’ve heard really good things though about the other restaurants at the Grand Floridian!
June 19th: Sunday morning we woke up and went to the House of Blues at Disney Springs…for the Gospel Brunch!
Todd and I had wanted to go to church on Sunday, and this was a great option. I wouldn’t call it church exactly, but it was like Vacation church. Pretty much you eat really delicious food and listen to some amazing singers sing gospel songs and the encourage you to sing along.
Side note, We loved the magic bands that Disney gives you. They are your room key, your money, your everything! Before the trip I bought these cute decals from Etsy. They were super easy to put on and stayed on the whole trip.
After brunch we went back to the Magic Kingdom for a bit and rode the Monorail!
And we took a few pictures in front of the back of the castle!
We then headed to the Polynesian Hotel for dinner at ‘Ohana. This was another place you have to eat! It’s a meal where you don’t order, they serve it to you family style, and everything was amazing!
Just FYI…’Ohana means family 😉
June 20th: This was our last day at Disney before we headed to Universal. We went to Hollywood Studios again.
We rode our favorite rides a few more times…
I think you can tell this was a fun group to ride with! Todd told me to hold my hands up. All that is holding you is a loose seat belt. Guys…this is the best!
We also got our Monster University hats…the hardest hats in the world to find…and wore them to Pixar!
We took a few more pictures around the park, saw Indiana Jones, and explored the Star Wars exhibits.
Oh and we made a new friend…
We ended the evening with eating an early dinner at Mama Melrose’s and then watched the Fantasmic Show (which is a must see, truly amazing!)
Last but not least, I wanted to share one of our fun souvenirs. Todd and I picked out a pin at each park we went to and Todd added them to his backpack. He still has then on there and it’s such a great reminder of our trip!
Well that’s all for this post! Next I’ll be talking about the last leg of our Honeymoon…Universal!
