Today I am joining Emily for a Fall recipe linkup!
One of our favorite recipes to eat in the Fall and Winter is Chicken and Dumplings! Now let’s be real…we eat this all year round anytime we crave it, however we eat it even MORE in the Fall and Winter.
I am not a type of person that wants to brag about how long and hard I slaved away in the kitchen to make something delicious, rather, I want to be able to say how easy and quick something was that is delicious, and this is one of those recipes!
There are only four ingredients (plus salt and pepper!). I either use chicken broth or bouillon cubes. I prefer Cream of Chicken with Herbs (even though it’s harder to find). Also, I always get the grands biscuits. If you don’t get the grands, then use two regular cans of biscuits.
First you start with 32 ounces of chicken broth, and I cook about 1 lb of chicken breast in it until no longer pink.
Once the chicken is cooked, I shred it up. Then I start tearing up the biscuits into small pieces. Throw them into the boiling broth and they start to cook up!
Lastly I pour in the cream of chicken soup and salt and pepper! That’s it! Super easy!
Ingredients:
32 oz Chicken Broth
1 can Grand Biscuits
1 can Cream of Chicken soup
1 lb Chicken Breast
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Heat chicken in chicken broth. Allow to cook until no longer pink. Shred chicken into bite size pieces.
2. Tear biscuits into small circles. Place in hot broth and allow to cook (does not need a super long time).
3. Pour in cream of chicken soup and mix together.
4. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Let me know if you try it! It’s a quick, easy, and cheap delicious meal!
