Yay! My first book review! I am a big reader, but because of school I don’t get to read as much as I would like, so now I listen to audiobooks in addition to reading regular books. I didn’t think I would be a big audiobook person, but I honestly love it! It keeps me awake on my early morning drives and I get to read more books!
So this month I read 4 books. Get ready to add a few books to your reading because all the books were great!
Okay here we go…
Book #1: The Matchmaker. Whenever I’m not sure what to read next I pick up a Elin Hilderbrand book. I listened to this on audiobook and loved it! Besides the Winterstreet series, this is my favorite of hers that I’ve read. The story is about a lady who lives in Nantucket and she has a natural act of matchmaking except for herself and for her daughter. It’s a cute read, especially around Valentine’s Day.
Book #2: Eligible. If you have not read this book, read it! It’s a modern take of Pride and Prejudice but also has a “Bachelor” like story to it. I also listened to this one on audiobook and absolutely loved it! I’m already predicting this will be on the top of my list for the year!
Book #3: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. This was probably my least favorite book of the month however it wasn’t bad, just a bit difficult to get into. I have yet to see the movie, but I honestly think I might like the movie better, (I never say that!). The story follows a boy who is trying to learn more about his Grandpa and along the way finds a very peculiar group of children.
Book #4: Glass Sword. Now this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I happen to enjoy dystopian YA novels. This is the second in the series of The Red Queen. If you liked Hunger Games, or Divergent, you will like this series! The third one just came out and I can not wait to read it! The story shares about a society that had a divide in social standing based on the color of one’s blood (red or silver). The silver blooded have powers are red blooded people are normal.
What I’m currently reading…
So that’s it! Feel free to leave comments about any suggestions! I love to hear what others are reading! You can also check out other books I read on my Goodreads account!
