Hey guys! Sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged, currently I am working on switching my blog to WordPress, so I’m trying not to blog too much, and also I just went to a youth summer camp as a leader for a whole week!
But I’m back today to share with you the second half of our quick Greensboro trip! If you missed the first part you can check it out here.
So continuing from last post…we headed from Clean Juice, to Maxie B’s.
Ya’ll this place was heavenly! You walk in and you are just surrounded by cakes!
We had the hardest time choosing what type of cake we both wanted! I ended up going with the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip (totally would recommend) and Todd got the Key Lime (also delicious!)
Somehow we totally lucked out because as soon as we left there was a line going out the door! I can tell this is definitely a hot spot around town.
It was super cool too because right across the street from Maxie B’s was actually the original Cookout! We did not go because we were stuffed, but on another trip I would love to check it out! 🙂
Next up we headed to the Elsewhere Museum (located in the downtown area) to walk off our cake. This museum is one like no other because it’s made from a lady’s collection of stuff, and you can actually interact with the items there!
It also serves as a local hub for artists to come and create! Now…get ready for picture overload of all the cool spots at the museum!
This was a favorite feature. The cloth ceiling!
I also loved that there was so much you could interact with! There was a “music machine” that you threw balls at to make music. There was also this set up to take cool pictures with different items in front of it (like a diamond). Just all around creative!
Todd enjoyed the musical instruments! Lol
And I loved all the books! 🙂
Another really cool feature of the museum is that the front of the store doesn’t have a window, and in it’s place is swings! This was probably my favorite part of the whole museum!
The admission to the Elsewhere museum is a recommended donation of 1-5 dollars so it’s super affordable!
Next up we walked the streets of downtown a bit and found some cool shops. My most exciting find was a vintage scarf that I could use as a headband.
We made a quick trip to World Market (I have no pictures), but that place is the bomb and then it was time for dinner! We headed to Crafted The Art of The Taco (downtown) and OH MY GOODNESS it was amazing! Seriously ya’ll Greensboro has the best food!
They made it very clear that this was not a Mexican restaurant, it’s a Taco place, and seriously these were the best tacos I have ever had!
We started with a bacon appetizer! Ya’ll why have I never tried bacon dipped in caramel!? So life changing!
Then we got our tacos! I decided on the Big Truck taco and the Baja Style Taco (without cilantro) with a side of street corn. I recommend all of it. Man, my mouth is literally watering just looking at these pictures!!!
And Todd got the Baja Style Taco along with something else I can’t remember, but he loved his too!
After dinner we headed home! I absolutely loved our trip to Greensboro and can’t wait to go back! I had so many suggestions on places to go that we didn’t get to visit, so here are more suggestions in case you are going on a longer trip!
