Today was officially my last day of Summer! Tomorrow starts back teacher work days. It’s always bittersweet: I am always excited for the school year ahead, but sad that the break time is over!
One thing I’ve really enjoyed this Summer is spending Mondays with Todd. For those of you who don’t know, Todd is the Worship Pastor at our church so since Sunday isn’t really a day off for him, he gets Mondays off. So since he didn’t have to work, and I usually do on Mondays, it was nice to get to spend that time with him!
Last Monday we went to Splash Valley.
We absolutely love Splash Valley because not only is it a pool, there is also two huge water slide “rides.”
And I’m not ashamed to admit that we love the slides! There is one we call the toilet bowl ride (it literally looks like a big toilet bowl), and it is a blast!
This Monday (today) we enjoyed my last day of Summer by first going to the mall to use some gift cards we had to the massage place.
Todd and I both agreed that they definitely worked out the knots, but it really hurt sometimes! lol I thought my back was going to break at one point! Afterwards though we both felt great!
We also had a gift card to Belk to use and Todd needed a few new basic shirts so we made a pit stop there.
Next we headed to Blue Cow, a brand new ice cream shop!
We got what’s called The Flight. You pretty much get four scoops of four different ice creams. We tried (from left to right): The Blue Cow Patty, Key Lime Pie, Brown Butter Pecan, and Peach Ginger. All were delicious! My favorites were the first two.
Also if you want to sit outside there is a beautiful of the star and a little water way.
Next we hit up the Co-Op so that Todd could pick out some new coffee! If you’ve never been to the Co-Op, and you’re really into natural products and clean eating, then you should check it out!
One of the coolest parts about the Co-Op is that if you don’t use a bag, they give you a token, that you get to place in a slot. They donate 5 cents per token to the charity of your choice.
Then we went right down the road to Black Dog Salvage and just explored all the crazy cool things they have there!
Get ready for pic overload of all the cool things inside 😉
We then ended our evening with dinner at Applebee’s and now we plan to watch Netflix and the Bachelorette!
Thanks for stopping by!
