Hey friends! I am so sorry for the lack of posting in the month of March! I have been working hard on some very exciting posts for my blog and I am super excited to share soon!
Today though we are talking about one of my favorite subjects…books! This past month I read 4 books. I strayed away from my typical “thriller” genre this month, which definitely helped me have less anxiety lol!
As always, I’m joining a few others around the web to share our book reviews.
The Dinner List by Rebecca Serle
The Dinner List isn’t the type of book I would normally pick up, but after seeing quite a few raving reviews and realizing it wasn’t a super long read; I decided to give it a try. This book quickly jumps into a scene in which a girl is having dinner with her “dinner list” aka the five people she said she would want to have dinner with, dead or alive. I liked that this book didn’t explain how it was happening…it just was. This book however was a bit of a slow start, at least for me. I didn’t want to always read more, but I did. And by the end of it y’all I was straight up balling! I will say books do make me cry, but I can’t think of the last time a book made me cry this hard! The whole time reading it I just thought, this is a 3 star book, but then the ending happened and it suddenly jumped up to 4 stars. This book will not be for everyone, but you might as well give it a try.

Sacred Privilege by Kay Warren
This book was gifted to me by my head Pastor’s Wife. It has been sitting on my shelf for just a few months, and I finally decided to pick it up this month. And boy oh boy am I glad I did! This book is written by Kay Warren, wife of Pastor Rick Warren (You may know him from the best-seller Purpose Driven Life). She tells the tales of being a Pastor’s Wife both when she was famous, and before the fame came. If you are in ministry or are married to a Pastor..any type of one, then you NEED to read this! You will find this so relatable. This book made me feel understood, and that’s just refreshing. I wrote down so many quotes and dog-earred so many pages. This will definitely be a book I will be revisiting.

The Dreamers by Karen Thompson Walker
The Dreamers peaked my interest after seeing so many people recommend it during last month’s book review. This book was fast-paced and perfect for people who enjoy a dystopian type of story (although I wouldn’t classify this as in that genre). The story follows a small town as a new disease breaks out…one that makes you fall asleep, and not wake up. I really enjoyed this book and flew through it in just a few days!

Sisters First by Jenna Bush Hagar and Barbara Pierce Bush
I listened to Sisters First on audiobook this month and enjoyed hearing some behind the scenes insights from the Bush twins. I love learning about political families and their personal lives, or really just the inter-workings of it all. I really loved when they discussed dealing with the tabloids/cameras and also when they discussed their experience on 9/11. There were a few slower parts of the book, but overall a fun inside look!

Let me know what I need to read next! Also, have you read any of these books already? What did you think? 🙂
