I feel I have been absolutely totally absent from blog world, but not without a good cause…My husband and I have been keeping a HUGE secret! We are pregnant with TWINS! They will be making their arrival into this world this Fall.
We are so thankful that we have been blessed with two beautiful babies!
Currently I am 12 weeks pregnant. With one baby that would put my due date in mid-November, however, twin pregnancies go no longer than 38 weeks and on average women go into labor at the 35/36 weeks so we predict that we will be meeting these two most likely in October 2020!
These babies are di di twins, meaning that they have their own place to live and their own food supply, which makes it the safest type of twin pregnancy to have (praise!). Also, this means that they are most likely fraternal, however there is a slight chance that they could be identical. If we have one of each gender then we will know they are fraternal, otherwise we will have to wait till they are earth side to know which type they are!
Twins do not run in either of our families (although, it really only matters if it’s on the female side) so we truly never expected there to be two babies! When I went into my first appointment by myself (visitors are not allowed at my facility currently) and I saw that the picture on the screen looked a bit different from all the other ultrasounds I had been seeing recently I was in complete shock, and then the amazing ultrasound tech said, “there are two!” It was so fun to share the news with Todd when he picked me up. He was so excited and started laughing and crying!
We know now that twins are a part of God’s plan for us. We had been praying for a baby and God surprised us and gave us two in his perfect timing.
I plan on doing a post soon where I share all about my first trimester and answer any questions you may have. When we were trying to get pregnant and during my first few weeks of pregnancy, I loved being able to read other women’s experiences. It always made me feel like what I was going through was normal. So, if you have any questions, feel free to leave them below or send me a message on Instagram!
Also, if there are any other twin mamas reading this please give me all of your advice! I know I will need it!
